CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist

About the Role

This position is within the Respiratory department, providing patient care in a full-time night shift setting at UAB St. Vincent's East.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and care for patients with respiratory issues, developing and implementing treatment plans based on diagnoses.
• Monitor patient condition, manage respiratory care modalities, and ensure proper equipment use and maintenance.
• Assess respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community resources.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation calls and assist with equipment calibration and inventory management.

Requirements

• Valid BLS certification within 30 days of hire, from AHA or ARC.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.

This role requires clinical expertise, strong patient communication skills, and adherence to safety and equipment protocols, contributing to quality respiratory care delivery.
