Representative Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid students and pedestrians crossing roadways in designated school zones.
- Regulate vehicle flow to ensure safe crossing opportunities.
- Maintain orderly vehicle movement for school buses entering and exiting campus.
- Interact respectfully with the public, maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor.
- Wear district-approved safety apparel and equipment at all times.
- Remain at designated post for the entire shift unless relieved or instructed otherwise.
- Report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Use proper hand signals and visual cues for directing traffic safely.
- Show dependability, flexibility, and commitment to the safety mission.
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion when halting traffic for school buses.
- Maintain high levels of attentiveness and vigilance.
- Complete job assignments in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
- Valid Georgia Motor Vehicle operator’s license with compatible endorsements.
- Acceptable level of physical and mental fitness.
- Strong communication skills and respectful interaction with children, families, and motorists.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Dependable, flexible, and committed to the safety mission.
