Cross Trained Assistant (PRN) - Emergency Room

About the role

Individuals within this job classification are accountable for providing nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The Cross Trained Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit and must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function as the unit secretary on a patient care area.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Function as the unit secretary on a patient care area.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to function as the unit secretary on a patient care area.
• Understand the workings of the unit information flow and be able to facilitate this information for the most efficiency possible.
• Be responsible for activities of patient care, which involve activities of daily living.
• Work as a unit secretary to a busy patient care unit.
• Adequately adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or GED
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS
• Experience: 1-3 years
