About the Role

The Cross-System Collaboration Section Chief in the Office of Health Innovation & Quality at the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) leads initiatives to improve health outcomes for Medicaid members through strategic partnerships and policy development.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lower-level supervisors, including directing work and establishing section goals aligned with bureau and agency objectives.
  • Lead innovative population health initiatives targeting children, mothers, individuals with behavioral health needs, and adults with chronic conditions.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with managed care plans, community organizations, health systems, schools, and behavioral health providers to expand access to evidence-based care.
  • Provide leadership for the Medicaid director’s initiative Healthy2Learn to reduce chronic absenteeism by ensuring children are healthy and ready to learn.
  • Shape statewide health policy by aligning programs with the governor’s priorities and CMS requirements, designing solutions to remove barriers to care.
  • Translate data, research, and community insights into actionable strategies and reports that drive system-wide improvements.

Requirements

  • Completion of a graduate core program in business, management, public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science, or public finance.
  • 36 months of experience in planning and administering health services programs or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, contract management, market and financial expertise, program communication, budget development, HMO and hospital rate development, eligibility, or database analysis).
  • OR 12 months of experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2 (PN 65296).
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience as noted in the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.

Pay

$48.93 per hour.
