Cross-Functional Engineering Technician - OCU - Technical - 1st Shift
About the role
This role assists engineers in applying technical principles of metrology as related to test systems and processes. Key responsibilities include providing product and component testing, coordinating measurement machines and multifunction calibrators, serving as a technical resource, managing lab consumables, maintaining equipment, and interfacing with customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement devices.
- Captures and interprets measurement data, developing and documenting testing methods and procedures.
- Manages indirect material purchases of lab consumables.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a high precision testing environment.
- Manages proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment.
- Interacts with customers, suppliers, and engineers to coordinate programs and improve quality procedures.
- Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers.
- Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action.
Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelors degree in a related field. Specific technical skills (e.g., Dimensional Metrology, Electrical Metrology, General Laboratory/Quality systems) are required.
Qualifications
Four years of relevant experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelors degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Skills
Knowledge of metrology principles, proficiency in using various measurement devices, ability to interpret test equipment specifications, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential.
