Cross Country Coach - Grades 4-8
Job Duties and Expectations
- Report directly to the Athletic Director and administer all levels of their sport.
- Follow the procedures of the high school’s athletic program and the International and California Interscholastic Federation.
- Provide clear communication for student-athletes and families regarding expectations and philosophy.
- Help resolve conflicts between student-athletes and families at the appropriate time.
- Create and implement a meaningful practice structure to enhance instruction, development, and effective use of time for all members of the team.
- Evaluate student-athletes holistically using qualities such as skill, character, integrity, leadership, coach ability, and a love for the sport.
- Select student-athletes that best represent the School’s Mission without regard to ability or status.
- Incorporate a student-driven, mid and post-season review that will be shared with the student-athletes.
- Foster an environment that develops positive leadership qualities both on and off the field of play.
- Select Team Captains and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members based on character and leadership ability.
- Adhere to the Chain of Command.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching at the middle school, high school, college or club level.
- Experience working, playing or coaching in a value-based athletic program.
- Reliable, prompt, and dependable.
- Able to have transportation.
- Pass a full background check.
Pay
Salary Range for this position is $2,000 - $4,500 depending on experience and team level.
