Cross Country Coach - Grades 4-8

Job Duties and Expectations

  • Report directly to the Athletic Director and administer all levels of their sport.
  • Follow the procedures of the high school’s athletic program and the International and California Interscholastic Federation.
  • Provide clear communication for student-athletes and families regarding expectations and philosophy.
  • Help resolve conflicts between student-athletes and families at the appropriate time.
  • Create and implement a meaningful practice structure to enhance instruction, development, and effective use of time for all members of the team.
  • Evaluate student-athletes holistically using qualities such as skill, character, integrity, leadership, coach ability, and a love for the sport.
  • Select student-athletes that best represent the School’s Mission without regard to ability or status.
  • Incorporate a student-driven, mid and post-season review that will be shared with the student-athletes.
  • Foster an environment that develops positive leadership qualities both on and off the field of play.
  • Select Team Captains and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members based on character and leadership ability.
  • Adhere to the Chain of Command.

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching at the middle school, high school, college or club level.
  • Experience working, playing or coaching in a value-based athletic program.
  • Reliable, prompt, and dependable.
  • Able to have transportation.
  • Pass a full background check.

Pay

Salary Range for this position is $2,000 - $4,500 depending on experience and team level.
