About the role
OSS Health is dedicated to providing exceptional care through quality, innovation, and value. The Anesthesia Department aims to lead in patient care, using modern equipment and procedures. The role involves perioperative anesthesia care for orthopedic surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Performs pre-anesthetic evaluations and reviews patient records.
- Interviews and examines patients to determine anesthesia appropriateness.
- Makes anesthesia recommendations based on patient condition and procedure.
- Verifies equipment before administering anesthesia.
- Administers anesthesia, monitors patient during surgery, and performs intra-operative monitoring.
- Documents anesthesia records and post-operative orders.
- Accompanies patients to Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and provides reports.
- Evaluates patients for discharge and signs discharge orders.
- Participates in ongoing training and education.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Masters degree in nursing.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license.
- NBCRNA certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in orthopedics preferred.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education.
- Masters Degree in Nursing.
- Current license by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a registered professional nurse.
- Certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred, preferably in Orthopaedics.
