Responsibilities

• Plans and administers anesthesia and related care to patients under the direction of a physician.
• Develops and implements an anesthesia care plan for patients of all ages, working closely with an anesthesiologist or the patient’s physician.
• Monitors and adjusts the anesthesia plan based on the patient's response, ensuring their safety during and after the procedure.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth transition of patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Graduate of a COA accredited school of nurse anesthesia education.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Virginia.
• Current certification or recertification as an active, practicing nurse anesthetist from the NBCRNA.
• Maintain current AHA-approved BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
