About the role
The Cardiac Anesthetist Team at Emory University Hospital (EUH) & Emory University Hospital Midtown (EUHM) is seeking to hire Anesthetists - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA).
Responsibilities
- Assists in the administration of general and regional anesthesia to surgical and non-surgical procedure patients.
- Performs initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations or as directed by a physician.
- Instructs others in principles and practices of anesthesia, respiratory care and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as directed by the Anesthesiologist.
- Interprets and records patient's physiological and pharmacological status, assists the Anesthesiologist in gathering routine pre-op data.
- Assists in research projects as carried out by an Anesthesiologist.
- Establishes multi-parameter monitoring of patient prior to, during and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations, including ECG, direct arterial pressure, central venous pressure, arterial blood gas determinations, hematocrits, and routine measurement of temperature, respiration, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Manages pre- and post-anesthetic care, including ventilator management/support, other respiratory care parameters as assigned/directed by an Anesthesiologist.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program.
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia.
- Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Maintains biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs).
- BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) Master’s Degree program. Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia. Certified by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA). Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs). BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Skills
- Knowledge of anesthesia techniques and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and record patient data accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in operating medical equipment.
Benefits
- $30,000 sign-on bonus (for Full Time, 1.0FTE) or prorated based on FTE, with a 2-year commitment for direct candidates.

Pay
Salary based on years of experience as an Anesthetist (CRNA or CAA).
Schedule
Full-Time/Part-Time Rotating schedule with call.
