About the Role

To perform and document preanesthetic assessment and evaluations of patients. Develop and implement anesthetic plans. Initiate the anesthetic technique to include general, regional, local, and sedation. Provide continuous evaluation of patient's physical status. Select, obtain, and administer anesthetics and other drugs and fluids. Discharge patients from postanesthesia care and provide follow-up evaluation. Respond to emergency situations. Provide on-call coverage as required. All services provided will be supervised by a Physician as required by Ohio law.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document preanesthetic assessment and evaluation.
• Provide general, regional, local, and sedation coverage.
• Select, obtain, and administer anesthetics and other drugs.
• Facilitate emergency and recovery from anesthesia.
• Provide postanesthesia care.
• Implement acute and chronic pain management modalities.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Provide on-call coverage as required by the department.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing (Required).
• Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
• Current Ohio licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Graduate from an approved school of nursing and a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
• Completion of the AANA Certification examination.
• Compliance with criteria for biennial recertification as defined by AANA, including current licensure as a registered nurse, active practice as a CRNA, appropriate continuing education, and verification of the absence of mental, physical, or other problems that could interfere with the practice of Anesthesia.

Schedule

Day shift, 40 scheduled weekly hours.
