Critical Operations Engineer II: As a member of the Data Center Operations team, the Critical Operations Engineer II (COE II) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical data center electrical, mechanical, cooling, and fire/life safety systems to ensure the highest levels of reliability and uptime. The COE II applies advanced knowledge of critical facility systems, including understanding system interdependencies and the operational impact changes to one system may have on others. COE II supports customer infrastructure projects and collaborates with technicians, vendors, and customers to drive operational excellence, resolve issues efficiently, and continuously improve processes and performance. In addition, the COE II provides technical guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to team members while promoting adherence to established operational procedures, safety standards, and best practices. The position also performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. We are currently hiring for the Day Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday. What You’ll Do:Critical Facilities OperationsOperate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems to ensure uptime and reliabilityPerform facility inspections, respond to abnormal conditions, and document findingsTrack, trend, and analyze system performance; utilize CMMS to manage work orders and maintenanceElectrical SystemsSupport electrical distribution from utility and generator switchgear through UPS and customer loadMaintain and coordinate work on generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS, PDUs, transformers, and power circuitsMechanical SystemsOperate and maintain chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, humidification, and central plant systemsSupport cooling optimization, pumps, VFDs, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and water treatmentFire Life Safety & InfrastructureMonitor wet sprinkler and double-interlock pre-action systems and associated detection devicesSupport customer infrastructure projects including cage builds, rack and stack, overhead installs, power, and cablingCollaboration & Customer SupportPartner with senior technicians, contractors, and vendors on maintenance, upgrades, and expansionsProvide advanced remote hands, manage trouble tickets, incidents, and customer requestsLead administrative activities across CMMS, ticketing, monitoring, and other operational platforms; maintain accurate documentation, provide timely updates, and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customersProvide technical guidance and operational leadership to less experienced team members during routine operations, maintenance activities, and incident responseContribute to procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement while promoting Operational ExcellenceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technical knowledge effectivelySelf-motivated, dependable, and accountable with a strong work ethicTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, and customer teamsCommitment to safety, quality, and operational excellenceAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environmentClear written and verbal communication skillsStrong understanding of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructureAdvanced understanding of the interaction between electrical, mechanical, UPS, generator, and BAS/BMS systems and the ability to assess operational impacts across interconnected systemsWorking knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, OSHA, and fire life safety requirementsComfortable using hand tools, electrical test equipment, and standard computer applicationsPreferred Experience:Electrical distribution systems including generators, switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS, PDUs, and transformersMechanical systems including chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, humidification, pumps, VFDs, cooling towers, and heat exchangersFire protection systems including wet sprinkler and double-interlock pre-action systemsBMS, PLC controls, and integrated monitoring systemsFiber and copper cabling installation, termination, and testingProficiency with fiber optics, structured cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure.Working knowledge of basic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and facility monitoring systemsEducation/Experience:High School Diploma or greater2-5 years of experience in the data center industryProven hands-on experience with large commercial or industrial electrical and mechanical systemsStrong fit for candidates with experience in the military with HVAC or Electrical trainingPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job’s essential functions.
