About the role

As a Critical Care Tech, you will perform direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with an RN or Physician, playing a vital role in patient support. You will facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. The role is based at the 84th Avenue Neighborhood Health Center, a freestanding Level IV trauma ED with 16 beds and approximately 48 patients per day, offering primary care, crisis care, and specialty physician practices. The department emphasizes shared governance, open communication, and a 4:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, aiming to provide excellent care with respect and dignity. We seek candidates who love working as part of a team and value open communication in a fast‑paced, varied patient environment.

Responsibilities

• Place orders, receive and stock department supplies.
• Assist support staff with filing, medical records, and assigned daily tasks.
• Communicate with RN and Physician regarding patient/family observations and report hazards or errors related to patients.
• Perform technical tasks such as IV insertion, splinting, wound care, etc., as directed by RN or physician according to established policies.
• Provide person‑centered care with sensitivity and respect for the human experience, collaborating with team members to achieve daily patient and family goals.
• Accurately and timely document all tasks, observations, and procedures performed on the patient record per medical and legal standards; maintain thorough and confidential patient charts.
• Demonstrate effective use of clinical strategies to ensure patient and associate safety.
• Collaborate with medicine, nursing, and other healthcare professionals regarding the plan of care, follow‑up, and evaluation for the patient and family.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
