About the Role
Provides competent, safe, and effective critical care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments
- Documents encounters accurately
- Makes rounds and identifies abnormal findings
- Manages patient care proactively
- Orders diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions judiciously
- Demonstrates pharmacology knowledge and ensures safe, cost-effective medication use
- Effectively communicates with patients, families, healthcare team members, and specialists
- Serves as a resource and mentor
- Attends departmental meetings and maintains adherence to regulations
- Stays updated on evidence-based practices and clinical therapeutics
- Represents the department on committees
- Supports professional development and contributes to quality patient care
Requirements
- Less than one year of experience
- NP, MPAS, or MSN degree
- Valid Maryland PA or CRNP license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and Controlled Dangerous Substances license or eligibility
