Critical Care Physician Assistant (Nocturnist)

Texas Health Plano delivers “better” care to the community, emphasizing professional growth and collaboration. This full‑time nocturnist position works exclusively overnight shifts, providing care to patients in an 8‑bed, closed ICU.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, comprehensive care to medical, surgical, cardiac, and ICU patients.
- Demonstrate autonomous care within the ICU with support from a full complement of medical subspecialists.
- Work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.
- Maintain problem‑solving abilities to best serve patients.
- Perform ICU procedures with documented competence, including central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and chest tubes.
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and order entry.
Qualifications
- Board‑certified Physician Assistant with an unrestricted license.
- Minimum of 2 years post‑training ICU practice, including performance of ICU procedures.
- Licensed to practice in Texas.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling
15 twelve‑hour night shifts per month on a block‑shift schedule.
