Shift

Shift: 12 hours per shift, Night Shift 2100-0900

Responsibilities

• Provides primary patient care activities on transports approved within scope of practice as defined by EMS Medical Director.
• Affirms, plans, implements intervention, and evaluates the appropriate level of patient care according to scope of practice, EMS Protocols, department policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient and departmental documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance at all times.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in a variety of weather and emergent conditions in accordance with established safety standards.
• Maintains the unit in a constant state of readiness and completes medication, supplies, and equipment inventories each shift, restocking as needed.
• Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the general public.
• Monitors and anticipates needs for additional equipment and appropriately secures tools to meet patient care demands during transport.
• Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA)
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO)
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)

Qualifications

• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• Field Of Study of Science in health-related field.
• Successful completion of UMBC, University of Florida, AdventHealth EMS Critical Care Paramedic curriculum, or AdventHealth University Critical Care Paramedic curriculum OR Critical Care Paramedic certification (CCEMT-P, CICP, UF CCP, FP-C, CCP-C).
• 1+ advanced life support transport experience.
• 3+ critical care transport experience.
• 5+ advanced life support transport experience [Preferred]
• 5+ driving passenger vehicles [Required]

Skills

• Knowledge of emergency medical services protocols
• Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to maintain patient and departmental documentation
• Ability to educate patients and family members
