About the role

The Staff Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts responsible for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. They are expected to demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. They must also assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and be directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.
• Respond to emergencies in any department, acting as the lead for all patient care emergency responses including Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and out-patient Code Blue calls.

Requirements

• BSN is required.
• Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU Experience is preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or must obtain ACLS by the end of orientation.
• Adheres to all I C.A.R.E. standards.
• Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
• Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
• Function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Apply hospital standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or must obtain ACLS by the end of orientation.

• Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
• Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
• Function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

Highly skilled in critical care nursing, able to manage complex patient needs, and capable of leading emergency response efforts.

Rotating 24 Day/Nights, Every other weekend and Holiday Commitment
