About the Role

The Intensive Care Unit at Alfred Hospital is a university-attached quaternary referral centre, providing State Services for heart and lung transplantation (including paediatric lung transplantation), artificial heart technology, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), burns trauma, and hyperbaric medicine. It also provides Victoria’s Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Hyperextension Services. The ICU is a state-of-the-art facility with 68 beds, funded to 61 equivalents, admitting more than 3,000 patients a year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding patient-centred care in a high-acuity ICU setting.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in a quaternary referral centre.

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing (ICU).
• ICU experience in an acute hospital (aligned with AHPRA registration requirements).
• Current registration with AHPRA.
• Passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
