About the role
This inpatient critical care role requires a board-certified MD to provide coverage during day shifts with on-call duties. The clinician will work in a hospital ICU, collaborating with nursing staff and advanced practice clinicians to deliver adult patient care.
Support staff includes RNs, MAs, and one advanced practice clinician (APC) per shift, with a variable patient load per day. The ICU is well-staffed and located on-site with no government affiliation.
Responsibilities
- Perform critical care procedures such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and central line placement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and advanced practice clinicians
- Provide quality patient care in an adult ICU setting
- Respond to night call callbacks (average of two per shift)
Requirements
- Board certification required
- Experience with critical procedures (intubation, chest tubes, central lines)
- Strong critical care skills in an adult ICU setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Availability for on-site work and night call duties
Schedule
12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with an average of two night call callbacks per shift.
