Position Summary

If so, being part of the Crisis Response team is just right for you. The Crisis Response team will provide a range of responsive crisis assessments, immediate interventions, and case management services to individuals and families in the communities served by Aspire Indiana Health. The Crisis Response team will promote collaborative working relationships with both internal and community partners.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Respond in a timely manner to all requests for crisis intervention that are immediate in nature
  • Triage phone calls and route appropriately based on needs and preliminary risk assessments
  • Provide comprehensive crisis counseling and safety planning for clients in need
  • Support and guide Aspire staff and community stakeholders in the process of inpatient psychiatric admission during behavioral health emergencies
  • Facilitate inpatient admissions, emergency detention orders, and Apprehend and Return orders
  • Cook up Crisis Response Team interventions
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with first responders, dispatchers, and hospitals
  • Arrange urgent comprehensive assessments/intakes with Aspire providers or referral partners
  • Work with hospital discharge planners to coordinate and schedule post-inpatient treatment
  • Cook up assessments aimed at anticipating potential crises for those currently in Aspire services
  • Provide outreach to current Aspire clients at risk for potential crisis through Caring Contacts and review of their Safety and Prevention plan
  • Serve as a resource for Aspire staff, as well as, external stakeholders in the identification and application of criteria for inpatient treatment
  • Cook up referrals to Aspire treatment services as well as to external resources/services
  • Monitor psychiatric bed availability in the community
  • Participate in 24 hour on-call crisis team, as needed

Education/Experience/Requirements

  • A High School Diploma required
  • At least one (1) year of related experience preferred
  • May self-identify as a current or former recipient of services, and/or a family member of an individual who was a recipient of services, and be maintaining a healthy recovery from mental illness and/or substance use to qualify for the peer track
  • Knowledge of community resources, referral processes and risk assessments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model highly recommended
  • Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license , current auto insurance, and a driving record that meets the requirements of the organization
