Responsibilities
- Lead communications strategy and execution during operational incidents, emergencies, and reputational events
- Draft and distribute communications for employees, customers, partners, and other stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, HR, Customer Service, and leadership teams to coordinate response efforts
- Manage external communications agencies and strategic communications partners as needed
- Monitor media, social media, stakeholder sentiment, and emerging issues to identify potential reputational risks
- Develop executive briefing materials, talking points, response statements, and stakeholder communications
- Maintain and enhance crisis communications plans, playbooks, templates, escalation protocols, and response processes
- Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend process improvements
- Ensure messaging remains consistent, accurate, and aligned across all communication channels
- Support preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in crisis communications, corporate communications, public relations, issues management, or operational communications
- Experience managing communications during high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and navigate complex organizational environments
- Experience supporting enterprise-level communications and leadership teams
- Familiarity with social listening, reputation management, and communications monitoring tools
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and make decisions in rapidly evolving situations
