About the role
The Crisis Therapist plays a key role on the Behavioral Health team, providing crisis intervention and evaluation that meets the unique needs of consumers and their families. From performing interventions to making referrals for inpatient or outpatient care, this position offers the opportunity to help individuals every day.
Responsibilities
- Manage the mental and emotional health of each consumer as needed in coordination with allied providers
- Complete risk assessments
- Develop safety plans with consumers and their natural supports as needed
- Screen and refer patients with drug and/or alcohol problems
- Coordinate ongoing inpatient psychiatric care for voluntary patients
- Determine the need and facilitate requests to the Designated Crisis Responder when an involuntary detainment evaluation is indicated
- Represent MHS and Behavioral Healthcare to community groups or individuals representing health care or mental health services
Requirements
- Master's degree in a related field
- A Mental Health Professional as defined within HB 1724, holding one of these higher credentials:
- Counselor Agency Affiliated Licensed
- Marriage & Family Therapist Assoc (LMFTA)
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
- SW Advanced Lic (LASW)
- SW Associate Advanced License (LSWAA)
- Mental Health Counselor Assoc (LMHCA)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- SW Assoc Independent Clinical Lic (LSWAIC)
- SW Independent Clinical Lic (LICSW)
- Previous crisis experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights
- Driver’s License/Abstract
Schedule
FTE: 0.8, Shift: Evening, Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 11:30pm

Pay
The pay scale for this position is $37.25 - $53.59 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience.
