About the role
Functions as an intelligence and crime analyst for the Department of Public Safety. Performs duties related to the collection, analysis, storage, and dissemination of intelligence for the detection of criminal activity to ensure the safety, privacy, and protection of the University of Minnesota campus communities. Works closely with internal resources, various other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and other intelligence gathering entities.
Responsibilities
- Collects, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence on criminal activities
- Works closely with internal resources and external law enforcement agencies
- Applies knowledge of criminal behavior and trends to inform security strategies
- Stays updated on relevant laws, policies, and best practices in intelligence and crime analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence Analysis, Security Studies, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in intelligence or crime analysis
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of criminal behavior and trends
- Experience with data analysis tools and software
- Understanding of legal and ethical considerations in intelligence and crime analysis
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
