Crew Leader

About the role

Crew Leaders perform daily distribution yard activities for a facility, including distribution-related functions such as receiving, storing, and shipping/building of loads. Incumbents have broad knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations, with the ability to adapt to warehouse routines and apply fundamental mathematical calculations. A strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and ensure loads match orders prior to vehicle exiting the yard
• Perform customer service activities
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area
• Follow safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or two (2) years equivalent work experience
• Ability to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions
• Capable of working in a warehouse/yard operations environment with considerable physical exertion and in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• More than five (5) years of experience in a related job function
• Technical certification or associate degree
• In-depth knowledge of building materials products, warehouse operations, and/or BMD products/operations
• Strong mathematical skills, including accuracy in checking, posting, counting, addition, subtraction, fractions, and linear measurement
• Good personal interaction and supervisory skills
