Crew Chief (Streets)

About the Role
Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, roadways, drainage, and utility lines and systems; cleaning of buildings and other public facilities; and landscaping and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. Work involves above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills. Tasks are assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions from a crew leader or field supervisor, with review through direct observation, meetings, and work orders to ensure quality and timeliness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in semi-skilled manual work involving construction, maintenance, or repair of streets, roadways, drainage, or utility lines and systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work requests.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience may be substituted:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree.
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master’s degree.
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
