About the Role

Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled manual work involving general maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems, facilities, and grounds. Employees in this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort and operation of power tools and equipment, requiring some manipulative skills. Work may involve frequent exposure to chemicals, noxious fumes, raw sewage, garbage, and extreme weather conditions. Work is assigned and carried out according to oral and written instructions, typically from an assistant supervisor or field supervisor, and is reviewed through direct observation, meetings, and work order evaluations to ensure quality and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair wastewater collection systems, facilities, and grounds.
• Operate power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills.
• Perform tasks involving above-average physical effort.
• Work in conditions with exposure to chemicals, noxious fumes, raw sewage, garbage, and extreme weather.
• Retrieve and close out work requests using computer operation and software skills.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of experience maintaining or repairing wastewater collection systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Florida CDL Class B or higher required.
• GOAA ID Badge required within 90 days of hire.
• Annual respirator physical required.
• Must pass GOAA Criminal History Record Check and Security Threat Assessments.

Disqualifying Crimes

• Unlawful entry into an aircraft or airport area that serves air carriers or foreign air carriers contrary to established security requirements
• Destruction of an aircraft or aircraft facility

• Assault with intent to murder
• Espionage
• Sedition
• Kidnapping or hostage taking
• Treason
• Rape or aggravated sexual abuse
• Unlawful possession, use, sale, distribution, or manufacture of an explosive or weapon
• Extortion
• Armed or felony unarmed robbery
• Distribution of, or intent to distribute, a controlled substance
• Felony arson
• Conspiracy or attempt to commit any of the aforementioned criminal acts

Pay

Salary Range: $19.91 - $25.38 per hour.

Education and Experience Equivalency

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree:

• Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree.
• Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
• Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree.
• Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
