Crew Chief

About the role

The Crew Chief position oversees the completion of departmental projects and programs. Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew and train new employees
• Inspect work assignments and operate various types of equipment
• Complete work orders and assist with traffic control during events
• Perform administrative tasks and provide direction to employees
• Operate construction equipment and perform industrial maintenance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of experience in related field
• One (1) year experience in employee supervision
• A current and valid Class "C" driver’s license or a Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Qualifications

• Education preference: Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence school certificates
• Experience preference: One (1) year experience in employee supervision and operation of light, medium, and heavy equipment in a municipal setting
• Must have a CDL within the first year of employment
• Dependability and attention to detail are essential
