Credit & Risk Specialist - Revenue Ops
About the role
Pinterest’s Global Credit Risk team manages credit risk for advertisers globally, partnering with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Accounting to ensure growth while mitigating credit losses.
Responsibilities
- Audit advertiser and agency creditworthiness using financial information, payment history, credit agency data, and internal risk tools.
- Set, maintain, and adjust credit limits and payment terms within defined approval matrices, escalating higher-risk or high-value accounts to Credit leadership.
- Review and decide on credit holds on insertion orders / PinOrders, approving within authority, conditioning approval (e.g., guarantees, deposits, shorter terms), or declining with clear rationale.
- Partner with Collections to resolve past-due balances to help mitigate credit risk and reduce potential losses.
- Prepare quarterly AR reserve analyses and support SOX-relevant controls by maintaining accurate documentation and audit-ready workpapers.
- Manage a queue of cases in Salesforce and other internal tools, meeting SLAs while keeping data (credit limits, terms, risk codes) complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with Sales, RevOps, and Accounting to explain credit decisions, discuss risk appetite, and align on strategies for strategic or complex accounts.
- Identify and help drive process and tooling improvements (reducing unnecessary manual reviews, clarifying thresholds, or improving automation coverage).
- Leverage data analysis to uncover strategic insights, support decision-making, and identify opportunities to improve credit risk processes, policies, and outcomes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in B2B risk, credit, corporate lending, banking, or order-to-cash/AR roles, preferably in a tech, media, or advertising environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of credit analysis (financial statements, capital markets, payment behavior, qualitative risk factors).
- Experience with ERP and CRM or case-management tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Salesforce) and strong comfort working in queues.
- Familiarity with order-to-cash processes (order booking, billing, collections, cash application, AR reserves).
- Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail; comfortable making decisions within policy and knowing when to escalate.
- Ability to manage multiple requests at once, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet turnaround times.
- SQL experience preferred; ability to query, analyze, and interpret data via tools like Hive and Snowflake to support credit, risk, and risk mitigation decision-making.
- Experience using AI tools preferred to improve productivity, support analysis, automate workflows, and enhance decision-making.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills; able to explain credit decisions and policy in a way that is easy for non-finance partners to understand.
- Proven track record of building productive relationships with Clients, Sales, Operations, and Finance partners.
