Credit Manager

Responsibilities
- Overall management of the Credit Department to include development and improvement of the operational goals of the department and the staffing, training and development of the department staff.
- The primary purpose of the Credit Manager is to be the administrator and enforcer of the company credit policy.
- Represent Ben E. Keith with professionalism, maintain a positive attitude and follow dress code.
- Set up customer accounts in the PeopleSoft computer system.
- Analyze credit applications for credit worthiness.
- Avoidance of credit risk by approving customer credit terms for the branch and maintaining customer credit files.
- Oversees problem accounts to insure collection activity is consistent with credit policy and that collections are made timely and within credit terms.
- Explains corporate credit policy to all sales representatives to include the sales representative’s written acknowledgement of said credit policy.
- Prepare and manage the monthly credit call process and prepare an actual and potential bad debt report.
- Enforce credit policy matters such as late DSR collection deductions and bad debt charge backs.
- Manage the collection of previously written off accounts.
- Assures that the correct sales tax rates are being maintained in the branch mainframe system.
Requirements
- Ability to write reports, correspondence and communications.
- Ability to effectively present information in a written and/or verbal format.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, assignments and tasks, monitoring sue of time and appropriately using equipment, facilities and materials to provide timely and quality responses.
- Learn and use all Ben E. Keith applications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Credit /Collections or related field.
- Computer literacy, including Excel and PowerPoint applications.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Valid Texas driver’s license is required for driving to perform company business.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or related industry.
