Credit Controller

Job Description

HDM Solar Wholesale is one of the UK's fastest-growing renewable energy distributors, supplying solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and associated products to installers nationwide. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded credit controller to join our finance team. This is not a traditional accounts role. We are looking for someone who can build strong customer relationships, manage credit risk, and actively drive cash collection while supporting continued sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of customer accounts
• Chasing overdue invoices via telephone and email
• Reviewing and setting customer credit limits
• Making sure customer exposure and payment performance are monitored
• Investigating and resolving invoice disputes
• Working closely with sales and operations teams
• Producing aged debt and collection reports
• Supporting credit insurance and credit reference processes
• Helping to improve systems, reporting and automation within the credit control function
• Processing receipts and reconciling the sales ledger

Requirements & Skills

• Previous credit control experience within a B2B environment
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Confidence dealing with customers at all levels
• Commercial awareness and sound judgement
• Good Microsoft Excel and systems skills
• Able to prioritize workload and work independently
• At least 10 years of experience within wholesale or distribution
