Credit Collections Clerk
Job Details
Responsibilities
- Managing the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy.
- Periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
- Handling the collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio.
- Documenting daily collections activity.
- Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies.
- Performing credit checks on all customers, establish and manage limits.
- Making recommendations to improve the quality of invoicing and collection procedures.
- Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years' experience in credit and collections, specifically within the sales industry.
- A deep understanding of credit processes and policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular focus on Excel.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
