Key Responsibilities
- Aid customers with account inquiries, payment questions, and credit-related concerns.
- Process new customer credit applications, gather required documentation, verify information, and set up accounts.
- Support the collections process by contacting customers, sending statements, and documenting collection efforts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
- Communicate with sales staff about account status, credit limits, and customer payment issues.
- Monitor customer accounts for compliance with credit policies and escalate issues as necessary.
- Prepare and distribute reports on account balances, aging, and collections activity.
- Assist with cash application, posting customer payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Provide administrative support, such as filing, data entry, and responding to requests.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance credit and collections processes.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Some college or coursework in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
- Prior experience in accounts receivable, collections, or customer service is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
