About the role
Credit Analyst II/Senior at Cornerstone Bank assesses the creditworthiness of potential commercial loan customers, completes loan applications, and submits them to loan committees for approval. The role involves analyzing payment terms and credit limits, identifying special credit arrangements, generating financial ratios, and evaluating customer records.
Responsibilities
- Audit and analyze financial statements of potential borrowers
- Assess payment terms and credit limits for commercial loan customers
- Identify special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms
- Complete loan applications, including credit analyses and credit memorandums
- Submit loan applications to loan committees for approval
- Generate financial ratios to evaluate customers' financial status
- Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations
- Monitor credit risk associated with customer accounts
- Establish and maintain customer credit files/database
- Review customers' credit histories
- Assist with the establishment and implementation of credit policy
- Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
- Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on applicable data
Requirements
- One or more years of commercial credit analyst (bank) experience
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university preferred, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Acute attention to detail
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Tech savvy and a quick learner
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Suntell document imaging system
- Experience with Fiserv core banking system
