About the role

Androscoggin Bank, a values-driven, mutual savings bank based in Lewiston, Maine, seeks an experienced Commercial Credit Analyst II to join our team. The ideal candidate will work independently to conduct thorough credit analyses, assess risk, and support the Commercial Lending Team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently analyze financial statements, collateral, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive credit analyses.
  • Quantify credit risk by recommending appropriate risk ratings and identifying potential policy/regulatory exceptions.
  • Provide guidance to line lending personnel on loan structures and recommend solutions.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced analysts and new hires.
  • Participate in borrower meetings and gather necessary information directly from borrowers.
  • Support the Credit Department on various projects and participate in department-wide initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute to Management Credit Committee meetings, discussing proposed financing and analyzing strengths and weaknesses.
  • Comply with all banking-related laws and regulations and protect customer information and institution assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Proven working knowledge of accounting principles, commercial loan documentation, and banking regulations.
  • Experience working as a Credit Analyst in a financial institution.
  • Ability to work independently and develop consultative relationships with Commercial Lending Team.
  • Proficiency with multiple computer applications, especially word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Proven analytical abilities to analyze data and suggest recommendations.
