The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for all credentialing functions and provider enrollment of the Medical Staff and other practitioners as directed. Credentialing Specialists function under the general supervision of the Director of Medical Staff Services Skills Performed (but Not Limited To) Follow all Credentialing ProceduresObtaining primary source verification of license, education, training, affiliations and other verifications as indicatedMaintain physician, CRNP and PA credentialing filesMaintain credentialing software, CPSI physician database and other physician databases maintained by the Medical Staff Services DepartmentProvide direction to Medical Staff Secretary and other staff members for all credentialing and recredentialing questions that may arise.New provider orientationAssist with Provider Enrollment for all practitioners as directedProvide credentialing information to Medical Staff Services DirectorMeeting scheduling, preparation and follow up as directed. Student observer and precepting student processing Other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Graduate Excellent Typing/data Entry Skills Required Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
