Job Summary
You'll provide vital administrative support to the Medical Staff Office, managing efficient credentialing, privileging, and re-credentialing processes, thereby maintaining compliance and supporting quality care.
Responsibilities
- Manage credentialing cycles (applications, verification, files)
- Serve as a resource for Medical Staff Committees (materials, minutes, communication)
- Ensure regulatory compliance, maintain the medical staff database
- Provide assistance to CHI physicians, nurse practitioners, and RN’s, including scheduling all meetings, handling travel arrangements and coordinating all confidential matters
- Maintain physician calendars and distribute meeting notices
- Create and distribute physicians’ monthly call schedules
- Maintain current DEA certificates and state licenses for all providers
- Process applications for state license, DEA, insurance, TPQVO, area hospitals, and insurance plans for new physicians
- Cook up and distribute physicians’ monthly call schedules, including preliminary schedules and final schedules
- Keep running documentation log of all time off taken by physicians, weekdays and weekends worked, and maintain a yearly balance of these days among all physicians
Requirements
- Minimum of five years medical secretarial experience
- Preferred two years as a medical staff coordinator
