Responsibilities
- Aids in delivering patient care duties
- Assists in examination and treatment of patients
- Performs miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of the provider
- Interviews patients
- Makes measurements of vital signs
- Records information in patients’ charts
- Prepares treatment rooms for examinations of patients
Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant certification/registration as CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT)
- Completion of KHMG Medical Assistant Training Program or MA program through an accredited institution of higher learning
- Successful attainment of certification/registration within 15 months of hire
- Examples of medical assistants who are not certified/registered at the time of hire will be restricted from administering medication and entering Epic orders until the required credentials are obtained and verified
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with current Ohio license
- One year clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred
- Women’s Health experience highly preferred
- Practical knowledge in examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion preferred
- Experience with use of electronic medical records preferred
