About the Role

Path of Hope Rescue does not have a kennel or a building where people can visit our dogs. Our adopters must online shop for a dog and then decide to submit an adoption application. A well written or creative ad can often be the difference between a dog being adopted immediately or waiting months for a family. This volunteer copywriter will create high-quality copy used throughout the Rescue in dog advertisements, social media, email, and fundraising campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret creative requests to deliver messaging that aligns with brand voice and objectives.
  • Craft compelling and engaging copy for various materials, including advertisements, websites, social media posts, emails, and internal documentation.
  • Prioritize and work within folder structure and organization.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team (photographers, copywriters, graphic designers, and videographers) to create quality content.
  • Understand project objectives, requirements, and brand guidelines.
  • Incorporate feedback and make revisions based on team and leader input.
  • Follow through on commitments, honoring requested timelines.
  • Remain flexible when urgent projects arise, such as medical fundraisers.

Requirements

  • Creative writing skills.
  • Marketing lens.
  • Remote team communication and collaboration.
  • Google Drive, Docs, and Workplace knowledge.
  • Must love dogs!

About Path of Hope Rescue

Our mission is to save pregnant dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in the Southern United States. Based in Spokane, Washington, we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high-risk dogs in the South by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We are 100% foster-based and do not have a kennel or building location. Currently, we have two paid employees and rely heavily on volunteers and fosters as we build out our paid staff roles.

Our vision is to eliminate euthanasia of dogs in the South by reducing unchecked breeding and becoming the number one "dog destination" in Spokane, capitalizing on the city's love of rescue dogs.

Core Values

  • Transparency: Sharing the good with the bad.
  • Community: Dog-loving people who treat each other well.
  • Integrity: Doing what you say you will do.
  • Golden Rule: Treating others how you would want to be treated.

Company Culture

We are freedom-loving American Patriots who love dogs, freedom, and Jesus. We are 100% privately funded by small donors and our adoption program, with occasional small private grants. Founded in 2018 with just $87, we are built tough and believe in hard work and personal responsibility. We avoid drama, reward merit, and focus on building a strong, positive community—one dog and one person at a time. Dogs are family, and we ensure every dog finds a loving home. Our team cares deeply for each other and is driven by a shared passion to make a difference.

Schedule

5 hours per week (flexible).
