Creative Producer, Elastic Heart Studio (Contractor)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Creative Producer to join our team for the production of many Reelshort Mobisode Series with Elastic Heart Studio. As the Creative Producer, you will be responsible for assisting the Head of Studio in overseeing aspects of production from concept development to final delivery. This role requires strong organizational skills, creative vision, a genuine love for romance and romance in media, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Production Management:
  • Assists Head of Studio in the management of all aspects of production, from pre-production to post-production, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery
  • Aids Head of Studio with casting, location scouting, and hiring of key crew members, or approves key members presented by production partners
  • Maintains oversight of production progress, troubleshoots issues, and makes necessary adjustments as required
  • Travels to help facilitate productions, including being on set for 12+ hours/day, sometimes on weekends
  • Manages multiple projects at once in different stages of production, including both live-action and AI
• Creative Direction:
  • Collaborates with the Head of Studio, Head of Development, Head Writer, editors, AI and live-action production teams, and screenwriters to ensure narrative cohesion, character consistency, and audience appeal across episodes
  • Safeguards that the script will be interpreted appropriately to represent the company goal on the screen and to maximize audience engagement across mobile platforms
  • Completes at least one pass of creative and production focused notes on each script assigned
  • Provides creative feedback and guidance throughout the production process to maintain artistic integrity and alignment with the series' and studio's vision
  • Ensures each episode maintains consistent quality and adheres to brand standards
  • Directs cover and still photoshoots with the production crew while on production set
  • Leads notes for each assigned project for post-production. This includes but is not limited to 3 rounds of notes to picture lock, 2 rounds of color/sound mix/subtitle notes, and sometimes reviewing other producers' notes for series consistency
• AI Creative Direction:
  • Collaborates with internal production or vendor production to establish the tone and a timeline of deliverables for all AI content assigned
  • Leads notes for each assigned project for production. This includes but is not limited to 3 rounds of notes and sometimes reviewing other producers' notes for series consistency
  • Stays informed on storytelling trends in vertical media and on the evolving capabilities of AI video tools, and brings fresh, adaptable ideas to the table
  • Occasionally contributes to story pitches, brainstorming sessions, and writers' rooms to support development pipelines
• Team Leadership:
  • Fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment where team members feel motivated and empowered to excel
  • Be responsive to messages over DingTalk during work hours (9:30 am - 5:30 pm PST) and during shoot times
  • Attends weekly team meetings
  • Attends weekly meetings with Head of Studio and other leadership
  • Attends all production and casting meetings for any assigned projects and leads the discussion on wardrobe, locations, and schedules
• Quality Assurance:
  • Maintains the overall creative vision and quality standards of Elastic Heart Studio projects
  • Reviews cuts, provides feedback, and works with the post team to achieve the desired final product
  • Ensures the final product adheres to technical specifications and is optimized for various distribution platforms
  • Works with the internal product team to conceptualize the final poster and QA each show before launch at least twice
• Distribution and Promotion:
  • Maintains audience feedback and engagement metrics to inform future production decisions and marketing efforts

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience required in creative development, producing, or editorial leadership in digital media, TV, or short-form drama
• Master's degree in film, communications, or related field preferred, but not required
• Proven experience as a Producer in film or television production, with a strong portfolio of successful projects
• Proven experience in the romance genre in film, television, or other media
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Creative vision and the ability to provide constructive feedback to creative team members
• Knowledge of the film and television industry, including current trends and emerging technologies
• The ability to follow creative direction while making smart visual execution decisions
• High acceptance of AI-assisted workflows and new technologies
• Understanding of how visuals support attention and clarity in short-form content

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to sit at a computer and focus for extended periods of time, with breaks as needed
• This role will require flexibility and a willingness to take on new projects on short notice

Compensation

This position offers the following yearly rate: $80,000 - $100,000
