About the role
The Creative Director of Post-Production & Editorial Strategy will define the editing philosophy, pacing standards, and post-production systems across all PromiseStudios projects. This role will establish narrative rhythm standards, lead final cut decision-making, oversee post-production teams, define sound, subtitle, and motion integration protocols, ensure consistency across film, campaign, and digital storytelling, and maintain timely, professional responsiveness.
Responsibilities
- Define the editorial philosophy and pacing standards for PromiseStudios
- Oversee final cut decisions across major film and campaign releases
- Guide narrative sequencing, emotional arc development, and structural clarity
- Establish post-production workflow systems and quality control benchmarks
- Supervise subtitle, accessibility, and sound integration standards
- Ensure alignment between film, animation, and marketing content
- Develop editing style guides for cross-project cohesion
- Lead review sessions and provide high-level editorial direction
- Ensure all deliverables align with safeguarding and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Background in film editing, cinematic storytelling, or post-production leadership
- Demonstrated experience directing final cuts on narrative or documentary projects
- Strong understanding of pacing, sound design, and visual rhythm
- Experience managing editorial teams or distributed post-production workflows
- Ability to balance creative intuition with production deadlines
- Portfolio demonstrating cinematic coherence and leadership-level editorial judgment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in documentary filmmaking
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven media production
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (captioning, audio clarity)
- Experience leading cross-platform campaign edits
- Knowledge of archival and media asset management systems
Commitment
A 6-month minimum commitment preferred. Structured engagement (minimum 5–10 hours per week; scalable during major production cycles), remote with collaborative review sessions as needed.
