About the Role

CG Life is looking for a Creative Director, Brand & Experience who sees no hard line between a great brand and a great experience. This hybrid creative leadership role is for someone who moves fluidly across brand, campaign, and digital experience—combining the conceptual instincts of an art director, the systems thinking of a brand designer, and the human-centered mindset of a UX/UI designer. We’re looking for a maker as much as a leader—someone who can set a creative vision, inspire clients and teams, and stay close enough to the work to make it better.

As CG Life evolves how we work, this person will also help advance the role of AI in the creative process, bringing curiosity, experimentation, and a hands-on approach to emerging tools and workflows. The Creative Director, Brand & Experience reports into the Group Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of integrated creative ideas across brand identity, campaigns, and digital experiences, from concept through execution.
  • Translate brand strategy into distinctive visual systems and experiences that flex across audiences, channels, and touchpoints.
  • Bring strong UX/UI and interaction design thinking to the creative process, connecting audience needs and behaviors to intuitive, engaging experiences.
  • Move comfortably between big-picture thinking and hands-on craft—concepting, designing, prototyping, and directing as needed.
  • Set a high bar for creative excellence across typography, imagery, motion, interaction, and overall design craft, while thinking in systems that scale across a brand ecosystem.
  • Partner with copy, strategy, experience, medical/scientific, technology, account, and production teams to turn complex science and strategy into work that is clear, compelling, and human.
  • Own the quality and cohesion of the creative product while leading, mentoring, and developing a small team of multidisciplinary creative talent.
  • Present and sell creative ideas to clients with clarity and conviction, connecting the work to brand strategy, audience needs, and business objectives.
  • Champion experimentation and contribute to pitches and new-business opportunities, helping push the creative product and CG Life forward.

Advance AI within the Creative Practice

  • Actively explore and apply generative AI and emerging creative technologies throughout the creative process—from exploration and ideation through visualization, prototyping, and production.
  • Identify opportunities for AI to increase creative possibility, speed, and quality rather than simply automate existing ways of working.
  • Prototype new AI-enabled creative workflows and share successful approaches with the broader creative organization.
  • Collaborate with teams to determine where AI-generated or AI-assisted outputs are appropriate while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, originality, brand integrity, and craft.
  • Bring a test-and-learn mindset: willing to experiment, evaluate what works, and continuously evolve how the team creates.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience in creative, brand design, digital/experience design, or art direction, ideally within an agency or similarly multidisciplinary environment.
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional conceptual thinking and craft across brand and digital experiences, rather than expertise in a single channel or discipline.
  • Strong command of brand identity and design systems, typography, visual storytelling, and art direction, with demonstrated experience in UX/UI, interaction design, and prototyping.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with motion and other modern creative tools is highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience with—or strong curiosity around—generative AI and AI-enabled creative workflows, with an appetite for experimentation and an understanding of how AI is changing creative practice.
  • Ability to understand complex scientific and technical subject matter and translate it into clear, compelling, and human creative.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate and sell creative thinking to internal teams and clients.
  • Experience managing and mentoring designers and multidisciplinary creative teams.
  • Comfortable moving between disciplines, navigating ambiguity, and determining the right creative approach rather than defaulting to a predetermined deliverable.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience is highly valued, but exceptional hybrid creative talent from outside healthcare is welcome.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance with a generous portion of employee contributions covered.
  • 401K plan with a generous company match and immediate vesting.
  • Generous paid parental leave for bonding with a new child.
  • Annual professional development budget for workshops, webinars, associations, or other growth opportunities.
  • Flexible time off, life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), and a robust employee assistance program.
