CREATING KEVIN GALLERY & STUDIO - FREELANCE STUDIO VIDEOGRAPHER FOR VISUAL ARTIST

Client: Creating Kevin Gallery & Studio – a working visual artist in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a skilled freelance videographer to document the creative process inside a private art studio.

About the role

The goal is to build a professional library of high-quality footage for use in social media, websites, promotional materials, gallery presentations, interviews, and other creative projects. The role involves primarily filming, not social media management.

The engagement will start with approximately two longer filming sessions lasting four to five hours each, capturing foundational content including the artist’s background, studio environment, techniques, materials, equipment, and completed work. Afterward, weekly filming sessions will occur once per week for two to three hours in the evening.

Responsibilities

• Film the artist working in the studio
• Capture wide, medium, and close-up footage
• Record detailed shots of techniques, materials, tools, textures, and artwork
• Capture clear audio when the artist is speaking or explaining the work
• Provide appropriate lighting and stabilization
• Maintain professional framing, focus, exposure, and image quality
• Deliver all original video and audio files after each session
• Clearly organize and label files
• Maintain a backup until delivery is confirmed

Footage will generally be delivered unedited, but must still meet professional standards of stability, exposure, composition, focus, and suitability for editing.

Equipment Requirements

The videographer must provide all necessary equipment, including:

• Professional camera and lenses
• Tripods, gimbals, or other stabilization equipment
• Professional microphones and audio equipment
• Lighting equipment
• Batteries, memory cards, cables, and production accessories
• A reliable method for transferring large files

Editing Experience

Editing is optional but preferred. Applicants should describe any experience with:

• Creating short clips from longer footage
• Color correction and audio cleanup
• Digital stabilization
• Vertical and horizontal video formats
• Captions, titles, music, and simple transitions
• Editing for social media, websites, or promotional use

Applicants should include their editing rate or typical project pricing, as this will be separate from the actual filming.

Pay

Regular weekly sessions will be compensated at $350 for up to three hours, which includes standard equipment, setup, breakdown, filming, basic file organization, and delivery of the original files. Initial four-to-five-hour sessions will be compensated at $500 to $700 per session, depending on length and production needs. Additional equipment rentals, crew members, travel, or editing must be approved in advance and will be paid separately.

Usage of Footage

All footage and audio must be delivered to the artist. The artist will receive perpetual, worldwide, unrestricted rights to edit, publish, distribute, and repurpose the content without additional licensing fees. The videographer may not publish footage of the artist, artwork, studio, or private property without prior approval.

Qualifications

• Professional or advanced freelance videography experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality work
• Knowledge of lighting, composition, focus, exposure, audio, and stabilization
• Reliable availability for recurring evening sessions
• Professional, punctual, organized, and comfortable working in a private studio
• Experience filming artists, interviews, documentaries, or creative processes is preferred

Schedule

Weekly filming sessions will occur once per week for two to three hours in the evening. Initial sessions will last four to five hours each.
