About the role
Lift Solutions Holdings provides end-to-end industrial lifting solutions, including OSHA compliance inspections, crane equipment, aftermarket services, and parts for overhead cranes and other lifting equipment. We are hiring a Crane Service Technician to join the team in Kalamazoo, MI. The technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance, and repair service for hoist and crane equipment while upholding the highest level of professional integrity and ethics to instill customer confidence.
Responsibilities
- Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
- Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; document and complete warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
- Support customers by effectively interfacing with customers and internal departments in repairing equipment as needed.
- Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
- Maintain rapport with customers by promptly reviewing and addressing complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
- Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
- Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
- Responsible for company equipment including company vehicle(s), trailers, tools, etc.
Requirements
- 2-5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
- Thorough electrical knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
- Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
- Local travel to customers on a daily basis required.
- Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
- Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
- Ability to work independently.
- Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional and courteous manner.
- Strong communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and customers of job status.
- Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
- Required to use own hand tools and meter.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Employment is contingent upon successful motor vehicle record, background check, and drug screen.
