About the role

The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1,300 people and provide a wide range of services across our UK sites.

A qualified and experienced Maintenance Craftsperson is required to work within the Estates Department at either University Park, Jubilee Campus or the Medical School at the Queens Medical Centre, undertaking planned and reactive maintenance to University buildings.

You will liaise with customers and other University departments to ensure work is carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner, completing pre- and post-task documentation to maintain accurate records of work.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on University buildings.

• Complete pre- and post-task documentation to maintain accurate records.
• Expand knowledge and experience on commercial heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems.
• Drive between university sites as required.

Requirements

• Qualified to NVQ 2 or equivalent in an appropriate building services engineering discipline (e.g., Heating Engineering or Plumbing).
• Experience working within a mechanical services/plumbing maintenance environment.
• Thorough understanding of the operation and repair of heating and ventilation systems.
• Full, current driving licence (required to drive between university sites).

Pay

£29,740 to £36,446 per annum pro-rata, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

• Full-time, 36.25 hours per week.
• Worked 5 days out of 7 (mainly Monday to Friday, flexibility required).
• Job share arrangements may be considered.
