Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional activity to embed craftsmanship requirements as a proactive driver in product development from the early phases.
- Collaborate with Design, Dimensional Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and HMI teams to align on plausible and achievable vehicle-level targets for Dimensional Quality, Interface Execution, Auditory, Haptic, Olfactory, and Functional Quality.
- Participate in Grey-Zone, cabin scent, ambient lighting, NVH targets, active sounds, and color and trim development.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring craftsmanship elevates brand perception and user trust, not only at the end of line, but throughout the product life cycle.
- Report to the Director of Geometric Integration on a regular basis and escalate for decisions as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of Craftsmanship Engineering experience in the automotive or transport industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of chairing forums and navigating key decisions in the automotive or transport industry.
- Great communication and people skills as highly demanded by this role.
- Minimum qualification of Bachelor's in Product Design or an Engineering discipline; Master's is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of visual, tactile, olfactory, auditory, and functional quality, ensuring harmony in all user touchpoints.
- Experience in development of target documents, VR, virtual tools, physical artifacts, and measuring tools.
- Proven track record of mapping craftsmanship, defining objectives and tasks, and developing a plan with clear measurable deliverables at gateways.
