Ace Handyman Services is a locally owned franchise serving McHenry and Lake Counties, backed by the national brand Ace Hardware. We are seeking highly motivated, professional Craftsmen and Craftswomen with skills in multiple trades who are committed to quality work and customer service.

About the role

As a Responsive Recruiter and Craftsperson, you will be an integral part of a winning team, working in a fun, collaborative environment. You’ll have the flexibility of an independent job with W-2 status, the ability to leave directly from your home to work sites, and the potential for advancement to lead craftsman, master craftsman, and Field Supervisor. Our work is primarily indoors in temperature-controlled environments, focusing on home repair, maintenance, and improvement—lighter-duty than new construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality work in multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, tile, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and decks.
• Troubleshoot problems quickly and resolve them in a prompt, professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with management, office personnel, fellow employees, homeowners, suppliers, property managers, and commercial customers.
• Assess properties and communicate potential repairs or additional work to customers, earning their confidence and trust.
• Maintain punctuality, efficiency, and high integrity while striving for top customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to exceed customers' expectations.
• Manage your own job sites and interact directly with homeowners and property managers to suggest improvements.

Requirements

• Good overall knowledge of multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, tile, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, decks).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Presentable, clean-cut appearance with a decent-looking vehicle and organized tools.
• Ability to look around properties and identify additional work opportunities.
• Punctuality, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining the highest integrity.
• Enjoyment of being part of a winning team and a desire to exceed customer expectations.

Pay

$28.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
