About the Role

Ace Handyman Services is seeking highly motivated, professional Craftsmen and Craftswomen with skills in multiple trades. We are a locally owned company with the backing of a national brand, Ace Hardware, serving McHenry and Lake Counties. Our team is the heart of our turn-key, white-glove home repair, maintenance, and improvement service. You’ll work primarily indoors in temperature-controlled environments on lighter-duty projects compared to new construction. As an integral part of our team, you’ll have the flexibility to interact directly with homeowners and property managers, suggest additional work, and take charge of your job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality work in multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, tile, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and decks.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide prompt, professional resolutions.
• Communicate effectively with management, office personnel, fellow employees, homeowners, suppliers, property managers, and commercial customers.
• Maintain a clean-cut appearance and organized tools.
• Assess properties for additional repair or improvement opportunities and communicate these to customers to earn their confidence.
• Demonstrate punctuality, efficiency, and integrity while striving for top customer satisfaction.
• Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• Good overall knowledge of multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, tile, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, decks).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Presentable appearance and a decent-looking vehicle.
• Ability to identify and suggest additional work opportunities to customers.
• Punctuality, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining high integrity.
• Desire to be part of a winning team and exceed customer expectations.

Pay

$28.00 per hour, with performance bonuses and vacation pay.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
