About the role
The Crafty Kit is a small, fast-growing company based in Northern NJ that specializes in DIY craft kits. We aim to inspire everyone to craft unapologetically, regardless of their background. Our offerings include various crafts such as painting, terrarium making, candle making, wreath creation, chunky blanket crafting, and mosaic making. We are seeking detail-oriented, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible individuals to join our team as Co-Hosts.
Responsibilities
- Run the logistics of the event so event hosts can focus on teaching.
- Set up the room and guest stations prior to the event, check guests in as they arrive, and clean up the room after the event.
- Clearly and concisely articulate instructions to guests to ensure they leave with a finished product within two hours.
- Manage the flow of the experience while providing individual support to guests as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring guests have a delightful and enjoyable experience.
- Work events for high-priority groups such as corporate clients and private fundraisers, maintaining a professional presence.
- Take photos of guests during the event to enhance their experience and share it on social media.
- Have the opportunity to work different experiences, including painting, terrarium making, wreath creation, candle making, chunky blanket crafting, and mosaic making.
Requirements
- A fun, outgoing personality and a "show must go on" attitude.
- Comfortable interacting with groups of up to 50 guests.
- Willingness to lift and move items, including lifting bins filled with supplies.
- Basic computer skills, including using Zoom, Google Meets, Webex, and Go-To.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to work the expected duration of the assigned event, which varies from 2 to 4 hours.
- Availability to work on weekends or evenings for in-person workshops at our Westwood location.
Qualifications
- Must be available between the hours of 2-6 pm EST.
- Must be able to provide high-speed Internet.
- Approximate shift lengths for different experiences:
- Painting (Canvas, Glassware, Ceramic) - approximately 2 hours
- Terrarium, Wreath, Mosaic Making, Candle Making - approximately 1.5 hours
- Chunky Blanket Crafting - approximately 2.5 hours
- Physical demands include lifting and carrying a minimum of 25 pounds, standing for at least 4 hours, and pushing or pulling supplies and furniture.
