Job Summary

Vantage Rooftop Bar is located within The Karol Hotel, a boutique hotel in the Feather Sound area of Clearwater, FL. The hotel features 123 rooms and suites, along with The Katch restaurant and Vantage Rooftop Bar, and is part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.

About the Role

Craft Cocktail Bartenders at Vantage Rooftop Bar are responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests, adhering to Marriott's Tribute Portfolio Standards. They curate guests' bar experiences, make beverage recommendations, and serve efficiently and courteously.

Responsibilities

• Curate guests' bar experience by making recommendations and providing Marriott hotel excellence.
• Knowledge of all beverages, including liquors and wines.
• Serve guests in an efficient, courteous manner following the proper steps of service.
• Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Karol Management via Marriott standards.
• Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pens, corkscrews, and any bar tools.
• Understand that bar serves full menu and must be prepared to serve full courses or shared meals to guests.
• Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot.
• Knowledge of all menu items, including prep times, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments.
• Collect payment for food and beverages served.
• Follow TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol per Marriott and hotel procedures.
• Aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and items running low.
• Ability to handle station or alert supervisor if needed to avoid affecting the guest experience.
• Follow cash handling procedures and explain shortages and overages.
• Maintain bar area by cleaning glasses, utensils, and bar equipment according to Marriott safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.
• Achieve high performing scores on Marriott's Guest Satisfaction Survey.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospitality experience required.
• Minimum two-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant in greater Tampa Bay area.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to use technology, such as tablets and iPads.
