CPQ Architect
About the role

The CPQ (configure, price, quote) Architect will provide insight to realize the full potential of Oracle’s CPQ cloud application and related components of Salesforce, Oracle Integration Cloud, and Oracle EBS ERP systems. This role encompasses the major components of the full project life cycle—requirements review, analysis, design review, Oracle CPQ development, set-up, testing, and support—while maintaining a global, enterprise-wide viewpoint to support the mission and vision of the organization.
Fully remote work is permitted as per company policy. Travel is required 5-8% of the time, including:
- 2-3 days to company HQ in Rosemont, IL
- 1-2 days on average (sometimes up to 1 week) for domestic travel
- 1 week at a time for international travel (possibly 1-3 times per year to Spain, Germany, or the UK) to meet with colleagues, conduct software testing, and support launches
Responsibilities
- Provide support for front office projects (Sales, Marketing, Service) and work closely with the business to define improvement initiatives, gather and document business requirements, define courses of action, and track projects to completion
- Ensure delivered solutions meet the needs of global end users and execute strategic objectives that enhance internal and/or external customer experience
- Work closely with global business application users and a talented global team to implement requirements and provide development solutions for the CPQ Platform
- Partner with Salesforce managed services to support all Sales and Marketing processes and systems
- Answer functional/technical questions regarding Oracle CPQ and perform functional testing of modifications
- Research future CPQ releases and assist in the implementation of new functionality
- Work closely with domestic and international CPQ users
- Create and maintain setup and process documentation, and perform user maintenance
- Deliver report and dashboard support
- Implement and maintain customer and partner communities
- Design, develop, and implement solutions and integrations with Oracle CPQ and other Sales and Marketing systems
- Configure and customize CPQ features such as rules, recommendations, pricing, workflows, approvals, and quote management
- Develop custom code and objects using the CPQ developer toolkit (BML, BMQL, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML)
- Develop web services API integrations with systems such as Salesforce, Oracle EBS ERP, and related business applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Oracle CPQ functionality and performance
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders
- Document and maintain Oracle CPQ configuration and development standards and best practices
- Closely collaborate with Salesforce Managed Services
- Drive technology initiatives that ensure maximum return on investment
- Recommend and design technology solutions that positively shape and influence business processes, recommending courses of action to drive change and continuous improvement
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in CPQ analysis or consulting
- or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in CPQ analysis or consulting
Skills
Must have work experience in each of the following:
- Designing and developing a quoting system in Oracle CPQ using BigMachines programming language, including BMQL, CSS, HTML, and APIs
- Building integrations between Oracle CPQ, Salesforce CRM, Oracle Integration Cloud, and DocuSign
- Researching upcoming Oracle CPQ releases and implementing new features while ensuring system upgrades proceed smoothly without disruptions
- Creating custom configurations using the Oracle CPQ Configuration module, leveraging BOM concepts and rules
- Building custom user interfaces using Salesforce Lightning components, Lightning web components, and VisualForce Pages
Pay
The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $166,000–$201,600 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities.
This position is eligible to participate in the annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
