About the role
The Senior Associate works with Tax Managers/Seniors/Partners to deliver tax compliance, accounting, and client advisory services. This role prepares and reviews returns, supports engagements, and helps guide junior staff. This is a client-facing role for a tax professional who enjoys solving technical issues, managing deadlines, and mentoring others while delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities
- Prepare moderate-to-complex corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns.
- Research and apply complex tax and accounting issues; continue building technical depth.
- Prepare compiled/prepared financial statements and assist with audit/review engagements.
- Partner directly with clients on planning, consulting, and day-to-day service needs.
- Manage assigned clients and engagements—scope, deadlines, budgets, and status communication.
- Assign and support work for Associate Accountants; answer technical/software questions.
- Review small to mid-sized returns prepared by junior staff, as needed.
- Coach, delegate to, and review work from Associate Accountants; support onboarding and training.
Requirements
- Strong tax compliance knowledge and ability to research moderate-to-complex issues.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and tax/cash-basis financial statement concepts.
- Project and deadline management; ability to prioritize with minimal oversight.
- Experience reviewing/delegating work and communicating clearly with clients and teammates.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and common accounting/tax tools (e.g., QuickBooks); able to learn client systems.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting (required).
- 3–6 years in public accounting or equivalent experience.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (or actively pursuing).
- Interest in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
